Dog Deshedding in Miami, FL
Double coated dogs carry two layers: a coarse outer coat and a soft undercoat underneath. The undercoat sheds in clumps, and in Miami that happens more or less year round rather than in two seasons. Brushing at home usually only reaches the top layer, which is why the shedding never seems to stop.
Deshedding works through the undercoat specifically, lifting the dead fur out before it falls out. The coat comes away lighter, the skin gets air to it, and there is noticeably less fur at home for several weeks.
