Miami is humid, and dogs here swim. Both leave moisture sitting in the ear, which is where most ear problems start. We clean the outer ear on every dog that comes through, included with every bath and full groom, and we tell you if something looks like it needs a vet rather than a groomer.

Best groomer in Miami! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my baby. They’re so gentle, caring, and always make her look absolutely perfect. The best part is that she’s actually excited to go every time, which says everything. We’ve been coming here for almost two years now, and I’m so grateful we found them. Truly the best! ❤️🐶Posted on Google![]()

We have been taking our standard poodle there for almost a year. They do an excellent job at grooming/baths. Staff is very friendly, and always with a smile.Posted on Google![]()

It was my first time at this salon; the team is excellent, and my dog looked so beautiful when he came out to me. The location is convenient, and there is free parking. I drove there from North Miami and am so impressed by this wonderful place!Posted on Google![]()

We got recommended by our previous groomer that moved out of town. And we could not be happier. Suni enjoyed the groom so much that she greeted us with so much excitement. The front desk person was super sweet and friendly. The groomer Kharla did an amazing job and our dog came home soft and fluffy and smell so good. I’m happy to say we have found our new go to place for our pup.
Warm, damp and dark is exactly the environment yeast and bacteria want, and a floppy ear in Miami humidity is all three. Add a swim in the bay or a pool and the moisture sits in there for hours.
Regular cleaning removes the wax and debris that traps that moisture, and it gives someone a reason to look inside your dog’s ears every few weeks. That is often how a problem gets caught early rather than after it has been going on for a month.
We clean the outer ear only, with a dog safe ear cleaner and cotton. We do not go into the ear canal, that is a vet’s job. If we see redness, a strong smell, dark discharge or your dog reacting painfully, we will tell you and recommend you get it checked. Ear cleaning is included in our dog bath services and every full groom in Miami at our Edgewater salon. Barky Lounge provides dog grooming services in Miami from NE 18th Street.
We tell you what we saw, especially if anything looked off
Included free with the Luxury Bath Service from $50 and the Full Groom Service from $70. We do not charge for ear cleaning as a standalone service, it comes with the groom.
| Your dog | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Jumps up on people | Rounded nails do not scratch |
| Lives on hardwood or tile | No clicking, no scratches, better grip |
| Has dark nails | We can take more off safely, working gradually |
| Catches nails on bedding or carpet | A sharp clipped edge is usually the cause |
| Has dewclaws that curl | These get missed at home and can grow into the pad |
| Hates having paws handled | Grinding a few at a time with breaks is easier than clipping |
Every service below is available at our Edgewater salon, on its own or alongside a full groom.
Included with every bath and full groom, at no extra charge.
We tidy excess fur around the ear opening where it blocks airflow. Plucking inside the canal is debated among vets and can cause irritation, so we do not do it as standard. Ask us if your vet has specifically recommended it.
No, and neither can any groomer. A smell usually means yeast or a bacterial infection and needs a vet. We will clean what we safely can and tell you what we saw. If it’s more of an all-over smell, see why your dog still smells after a bath.
Every groom, so every 4 to 6 weeks for most dogs. Swimmers and floppy eared breeds benefit from more often. See how often to groom your dog.
The outer ear, yes, with a dog ear cleaner and cotton. Never a cotton bud, and never into the canal.
No. We are groomers, not vets. If we see signs of one we will tell you so you can get it looked at.
