A Maltese has fine single coat hair that mats quickly and needs weight taken out rather than length. A Husky has two layers, and cutting into the undercoat damages how the dog regulates heat.

Do I need to know the name of the cut?
No. Bring a photo and we will work to it. Cut names are not standardized between groomers anyway, so a photo is more reliable than a name.
How much is a breed specific haircut?

Can you cut my Doodle short?
Yes. Doodle coats mat quickly in the Miami humidity, so a shorter dog haircut in Miami is often the kinder option between appointments.
Do you shave double coated dogs?
No. Shaving a Husky, Shepherd or Golden Retriever damages how the coat regulates heat and it often grows back patchy. We deshed them instead. See our grooming for double coated breeds.
How often do breed cuts need redoing?
Every 4 weeks for curly and long coats to stay ahead of matting, 6 to 8 weeks for shorter coats. See how often your dog should see the groomer.
What if my dog will not sit still for a hand scissored cut?
We will tell you at drop off. Some dogs do better with a clipper cut and a scissored finish on the face only, which still looks soft without the full scissoring time.
